AOE - Area Of Effect.

Camping - Waiting for long periods of time in one spot usually concealed to avoid detection.

Cap - To capture a flag in CTF.

Capper - Flag carrier and/or capturer. A postion in CTF where the player is usually LO.

CTF - Capture The Flag. A gametype.

DM - Deathmatch. A gametype.

Frag - To kill. (Fragged = killed), (Fragging = killing).

Gank -

Gibbed - A Quake term where the damage to a player exceeds their minimum health by 100 points (-100 HP). This causes the player to break into meaty gibblets all over the walls, floor, and ceiling.

HD - Heavy Defense.

HO - Heavy Offense.

HOF - Heavy On Flag.

HPB - High Ping Bastard. This refers to players that have an exceptionally high ping (usually more than 150ms) which is undesirable.

Lag -

LD - Light Defense.

LO - Light Offense.

LPB - Low Ping Bastard. This refers to players that have an exceptionally low ping (usually less than 50ms) which is desirable.

Loot - The treasure obtained from chests or received as a quest reward.

Newb - Slang for newbie. Someone who is new to a game or someone who exhibits an unskilled behaviour.

Ninja -

Ping - The time it takes a packet of network data to go from the client (player) to the server, and back from the server to the client (player). Pings below 50ms are exceptional, ping below 100ms are good, pings around 150ms are poor but still playable, and pings above 200ms are usually unplayable. Ping is more important for FPS games while they are generally less important for RPG and MMORPG games.

Ping Whoring - When a player smothers another with a relentless 'in-your-face' offense in order to use his low ping as an advantage in combat against opponents with higher pings.

PL - Packet Loss. Expressed as a percentage of the number of packets (x/100%) that do not reach their destination. 0% PL indicates that all packets are received, while 100% indicates that no packers are received. PL causes pluggage and is related to ping.

Pluggage - When the network lag is so bad that the client either skips or freezes for short periods of time.

Pwned - Slang for owned.

Rambo Rules - Infinite ammo. A server setting.

Rape - To destroy the enemies base so they have no team assets until they repair. This is usually frowned upon when there are only a few players on the server. You should always observe the server rules or ask an admin before raping the enemies base.

Smacktard -

Splash Damage - Taking damage from a weapon that deals AOE damage.

Tele-Fragged - To be fragged by a player who is teleporting to your current location. This is normally done intentionally by following closely behind an enemy who is teleporting through a teleporter so the first player through is unable to get out of the way before the second player through the teleporter materializes. Sometimes more than one teleporter leads to the same spot and this can be done using observation across the map. Rarely is this done accidentally. This can also be done intentionally anywhere on the map using the Unreal Tournaments translocator.
